ST. TARCISIUS, PRAY FOR US!St. Tarcisius is both the patron saint of altar servers as well as the patron of the Knights. As a young man in the third century during the Roman persecutions, St. Tarcisius heroically volunteered for a secret mission: bring the Eucharist to imprisoned Christians. St. Tarcisius bravely carried Christ and but was captured and martyred - but never let go of our Lord. In our ceremonies, the young men of the Knights take on the words of St. Tarcisius and model his saintly heroism in our service at the altar and in our community.
As our members follow the heroic path and life of St. Tarcisius, they go on a four-year journey from Squire to Grand Knight. Read on to learn more about what each year in the Knights entails:

THE JOURNEY TO KNIGHTHOOD
YEAR 1: ORDER OF
THE SQUIRE The journey towards Knighthood is arduous. The boys who seek it begin first as Squires. This period focuses on building up advanced server training after which older members vest the Squires with their own cassock and surplice. YEAR 2: ORDER OF THE KNIGHT'S APPRENTICE
The second year of the Knights is a year of apprenticeship for Knighthood. The year of apprenticeship includes continued formation, fellowship, and advanced server training. Each Apprentice will serve a Mass with an Abbot or Archbishop and learn the way towards Knighthood. |
