REGIONAL ORGANIZATION
The Knights of St. Tarcisius is currently organized as a regional group with members across the Kansas City area from both Kansas and Missouri. Regional meetings of the Knights are held each month at Cure of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood, KS. All regional members are asked to participate in the regional meetings of the Knights of St. Tarcisius. Members should attend all meetings "in uniform" (see image at left or visit the Squire page for more information). THE MINYAN: PARISH SUB-GROUPS
Members The term "minyan" goes back into the Jewish roots of the faith. The "minyan" referrered to a quorum of ten or more men over the age of 13 required for traditional Jewish public worship. Jesus' calling of twelve men to be his apostles was effectively the creation of the first Christian a minyan. The Knights of St. Tarcisius draw on these Jewish roots of Christianity in using the term "minyan" to describe parish-level organizations of Knights. Approved parish-level Minyans would be free to hold unique meetings and activities outside of the regional organization, but all members (Minyan leaders included) would be expected to continue participating in the monthly regional meetings of the Knights of St. Tarcisius. The creation of parish-level Minyans is not a requirement. We welcome members from all parishes, regardless of whether or not they also belong to a parish-level Minyan. We also do not want any pastor to feel pressured or compelled to create and support a parish-level Minyan. Parishes may petition the regional Knights of St. Tarcisius to form a Minyan if they meet the following prerequisites:
